The San Diego Society of N Scale (SDSoNS) warmly invites enthusiasts of all experience levels to become part of our vibrant model railroading community. Whether you’re just beginning your journey into the fascinating world of N scale or you’re an accomplished modeler with years of experience, our club offers a supportive environment where you can develop your skills, share your knowledge, and contribute to our historic Pacific Desert Lines layout.
Becoming a member is straightforward—simply complete our membership application form. For prospective members under 16 years of age, we require the supervision of a parent or adult sponsor during all club activities, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for our younger enthusiasts.
Membership Options
Local Membership
As a local member, you’ll enjoy full participation in club activities, operating sessions, and the ongoing development of our museum layout. You’ll have opportunities to learn new techniques, share ideas with fellow enthusiasts, and contribute your unique talents to our collective efforts.
Member-at-Large Program
We understand that geography shouldn’t limit your connection to our community. For those living outside the San Diego area, we offer our Member-at-Large program for just $15 annually. This special membership category provides:
- Regular meeting minutes to keep you informed of club developments and activities
- The opportunity to operate trains on our layout when visiting San Diego (accompanied by an active member)
- A continued connection to our community regardless of distance
